This is ethically wrong, companies have no right to invade people's privacy to find out more about them. People keep their social lives apart from their work lives. They should be judged on how skilled they are at that job not about what they post on social networks

I think that this would affect young people who are using facebook for fun and posting stuff for fun that is not neccisarly real and that would really their future by not getting them accepted to different jobs, from what they have posted on facebook.

This could definitley effect a lot of people. Things that teens post on social networks that may be fun at the time may leave a bad impression to employers. People should be careful of what they put out there about themselves.

I think that this article over exaggerates, there might reach a point in the future were social networks might determine whether you get that job or not. The survey may of found 95% of the people concerned about their details being passed on to advertisers or other websites. Which is reasonable seeing that no one would want thier personnal information floating in the 'World Wide Web' :)

There should be a limit to which companies or employers are allowed to run background information checks on other people. It is important to know who you are hiring or who you are trusting to work in your company, but checking their social life to me is excessive. It is private information and unless that person gives you their permission, i believe that it is an invasion of privacy.

This could really damage a persons reputation. Its not ethical and it really shouldnt be done. The companies have no right to invade peoples privacies. What if people have private personal information that they dont want their work people to find out about them. Its truly disrubing to know that such a thing is happening today.

this should show teenagers that they should not post details about their personal lifes in social networks as it will affect them in the future, however companies should not go around checking peoples profiles on social network because if one is skilled engough to work in a company he should get the job

I think is important to companies to know who are they willing to hire, but checking their personal accounts as facebook and myspace is too much. I think they should respect people's personal life.

I think a lot of people write things on the internet without really thinking about who could see it or what people would think of you. I think people shouldn't write things on the internet that they wouldn't want future employers to see. What you write to other people or show on the internet can create a negative image of yourself.
I think that companies have every right to check up on future employers through the internet, they wouldn'want to hire people who could damage the reputation of their companies.
