This video involves the impact to society towards technology. It shows us how hotel rooms with technology is a good comfort and a good concept to buisness people that mostly tend to go to hotels. However, to tourists, they would find it homie and exciting. This also helps the people's ego by knowing there would be a better security and autherity. Aswell for accessing networks, it would be easier and faster.
They bring technology in to hotels to make it more luxurious for the tourists. Also for the business men they always stay in a hotel. If we were using hotels for technology there should be more secure. All of these technology would attract people in to staying at the hotel. It makes your life easier everything is there in you room and there is no need to do things. By just pressing a button or even commanding you can get things in front of you. This shows how technology is developing and its making the world a more easier life to live.
The issues identified in this article is reliability, security and authenticity. How reliable are these 'future hotels' it looks good in theory, but technology almost always has glitches or malfunctions, and if somehow you fall asleep with the rocker application and it malfunctions and throws you off the bed. Also security and authenticity are put into question because all of your information is on that television/ computer and you can access all your information on it, many hotel employees have access to your room when you're away and they have access to all your personal information. Also another issue with that is that who is the maintenance person that is controlling the systems. In theory and through this prototype this hotel seems to be the ideal vacation spot, to rest and relax and take your mind of things...which is one of the purposes of a hotel
There are many advantages and disadvantages towards utilizing technology for hotels. Although newer computer systems can be use to install latest technology and updates number of labor employments can decrease and thus, affecting the economy negatively. Furthermore, the issue of asecurity and reliability as everything is relied upon computer systems, external electronics threats is a possible case that can cause havoc and chaos within the system itself and ultimately lead to the decrease in tourism industry, thus, affecting the economy heavily.
The technological development trend of hotels is exponentially increasing from what can be seen on the video. It is interesting to discover what that hotel has to offer in terms of service and technology and that will attract a lot of customers to it. But as this trend increases, jobs will be lost as technology will take over. Another issue is in terms of security and authentication as the technology used in that hotel could not be very safe and might be hacked.
The future hotel concept really looks and sounds appealing for today's generation of aspiring business men, as it is comfortable and efficient. However, I don't really think that it is going to be a successful project; at least for the next 40-50 years until ALL hotels run like this. First of all, I think that the hotel that was looked at in the first place was a cheap 3-star hotel down in some alleyway in Germany. I don't think the video really shows us more of the extravagant luxurious hotels that are our there, and just compares their technologically filled room with some boxy blank cheap room. Personally, I really find it like something people would be really excited about, and I would certainly love to stay in a room like this. However, I think that it is going to be a really long time before all hotels become like this. The video also does not show anything about how they are going to achieve security for their clients, and that is an issue because I am sure that hackers will find someway to work into the system and be able to unlock every single room, and have access to all the valuable things that you usually keep in your hotel room. It can also propose some security issues in terms of the maids and housekeepers that come into your room and can have access to any information you might have stored on the computer. Overall, it all sounds very appealing and it is like giving a child a brand new shiny toy. However, I think it still lacks a lot details that are crucial in terms of security and reliability.
the world is really improving in technology. This shows that hotels with really good technology may be more comfortable and secure. its good that they are improving because this will attract more business people and tourist. this also will have better security as well for accessing networks.
It is Interesting to see how the use of developed technology is rapidly increasing in hotels. we can see in that video that so called " future hotels " use lots of developed technology to attract more people. it sure is more comforting for the visitors of the hotel , but the question is , with the use of that developed technology are people going to be and feel Secure ? ofcourse that problem can be solved with strong firewalls and passwords ! people would defenitly choose the future hotels over our current day hotels.
The main issue in this video is reliability, security... Are the technology in the hotel they are setting up in reliable? If let's say, they have 100 rooms?!? would they be able to take care of 100 rooms with different technology functions, another issue is security, would security be sufficient enough to avoid the technolgogy that is set up in the hotel from being hacked?!? this issue goes to important people... it's good to hear how much technlogy is growing at the same time scary..
This is a very intersting topic. It shows how technology is making living standards improve. Although it is very luxurious problems could occur. The question of reliability arises. Is the system reliable? Can you trust it? The accuracy of the data could be questioned. Integreity is also an involved ethical issue. Can the data be changed? What if you ask the "talking TV" to do something and it just snaps back at you. Can the whole system be trusted? Plus the system should be secured so that no unauthorized access does not occur. Privacy should also be ensured so that the "talking TV" doesn't start to give off your name to the next guest that arrives to the hotel room. Is equality of access ensured? Can everyone use this system?
The video in this article brings out the issue of reliability. Everything in the room seems to rely on the computer technology. and although that is probably better as proven by scientists, it could create a problem between people and machines. Also, there is the issue of security and globalization that is brought out.
