Clearly with the rapid changes that are occuring with technology, smart applications such as dynolicious, GPS and many others play a very important role in today's generation as we rely heavily on it in terms of providing us with vital information regarding traffic updates and the latest news. However, this raises the question of reliability of the applications introduced by google or Apple. Important aspects such as updates for the applications is important in order to inform users about the latest information. Even with all the new inventions being created, we must question ourselves about the pace of these new inventions as society need the time to adapt and apply it to their every day lives as mentionned in Friedman's book. The way of thinking and working must be altered greatly to apply the new applications or else these applications are might as well be good for nothing. And this is a very important factor especially for companies that rely on these applications as a major source of income because they would have to really persuade the public to purchase them.

A smartphone is a mobile phone offering advanced capabilities beyond a typical mobile phone, often with PC-like functionality. Using your smartphone for Navigation seems to be like a very good idea that was developed by phone manufactures, and it could be used at all times no matter where you are or what the circumstances are. Navigational systems could also be very reliable in terms of being able to use them for directions when lost. However, not everyone is aware of these navigational systems in their smartphones, and people often just buy these smartphones because they're the latest in the market, or they're the new 'must have' item. However, many who buy these phones only use them for SMS Messaging and calling someone, and so this creates an issue of reliability. A) in people not knowing that these features exist, and B) in people not knowing how to use this feature. This also creates issues of reliablity and quality sometimes because you might need to have internet access or must be signed up in order to use these GPS systems, and that is also something people are not aware of. Issues of quality come down to the life of your mobile phone and how long it can last before the battery runs out. The signal, etc.

Overall however, smartphones nowadays have come to prove that there is an advancement in society, and that there is hope for people to actually benefit from technology in a good way.

Technology has advanced a lot in the past decade alone, people use their phones for everything now a day, especially with smartphones. Smartphone can be used for GPS and traffic updates and many other applications. The issue represented in this article is reliability. These new advances, in technology are very useful although at the end of the day it is a piece of software which could malfunction at any time. These new applications make your life much easier, everything is literally at the tip of your fingers. Also another issue represented in this article is privacy, because phone companies can see and track what your doing through these applications.

The introduction of mobile technology to further assist drivers on the road is an example of its current development. New features allowing users to monitor car speeds and indentifying locations of restrooms on highways are evidence of the new aid mobile technologies offer. Applications such as SitorSquat and Gas Cubby are highly beneficiary to those who choose to make long distance travels, especially families. This is a large step in development and makes information more accessible than it curently is. Personally the use of GPS allows me to highlicght locations of speed traps along the highway and inform me the allowed speed in that specific route. Applying this feature to mobile technology, the use of Njection and other similar applications eliminate the need to set up multiple GPS systems. Instead by having the information programed into your phone, users can just use one device as oppose to having to configure multiple units.

This article addresses the issue of reliability of the different applications introduced by Apple or Google, this is because we are not sure whether the applications give us the right information, but they can still give us an idea of what we can expect (different carbon dioxide emissions, traffic jams and so on). From a stakeholders point of view, users are able to download several applications and install them in their mobile phones; we can see these programs as an advance in technology and all these applications can help users to understand many other issues, such as global warming and how their cars are affecting the world. I think that eco-friendly programs are good applications that will help people to understand and perhaps think about what can we do to save our world; the applications such as the one of gas emission lead people to think about to what extent we are responsible of a lot of issues going around the world.

Smart phone are increasingly being used by people all around the world. It has all of the important aspects you can use in your daily life, plus open source software is found all over the net just for you! its free or relatively cheap. Plus, a smart phone is small and maneuverable so all you need is a pocket to put it in.
The stake holders for this are the user and the maker. The user has a security and privacy issue since we don't know who will be watching through your navigation system. On the other hand, the maker has a people and machine's issue where this technology might one day be too reliable upon and if it crashes or malfunctions we don't know what will happen to the people who are using constantly, they might never go out again in their life.

smart phones are the new trend in integrated lifestyles between humans and their lifestyles. just as in the past people didn't have cars to travel from one place to another, but now you can't live without it. people rely on smart phone on the same way, it makes their lifes much easier than in the past, such as visiting traffic jam cameras to check for traffic on their phones. this will avoid them from entering a jammed road. that can cost them hours a day. therefore the introduction of smart phones makes their lifes much easier than in the past

cellular devices have stopped being used for calling reasons and are being used for all purposes now. the technology of phones have developed so much allowing applications to be installed on the phones and that allows the phones to be used to do a lot of other things. The most common thing done on phones these days is the connection of the phone with Wi-Fi. this allows the users of these devices to access the internet and to download even more applications for one's convenience. That goes to the benefit of the companies that are making these phones and the users, where the phones are more popular and under demand and therefore the companies become more successful in what they do.

Technology is advancing every minute in many areas and affecting many parts of our lives.
This article talks about the issue of the reliability of using these smartphones and devices that are introduced by Apple, etc.
The applications that are introduced need to be used wisely and they need a new way of working to apply them.
It's important the companies that are producing these devices and applications because its a major source of income for them, and they need to advertize it the right and safe way for the public to actually buy it without any concerns.

The article deals with the reliability and use of smart phones, such as blackberries and iphones. These devices now have GPS system embedded in them which help drivers navigate and directs them to their desired location. There are also applications such as google maps which also give drivers a sense of where places are.

These technologies, mobile phones, need to be accurate and reliable in order for users to find the location needed.

Overall smart phones are the new frontier of communication, smart phones allow users to find almost anything which they would be able to find using a computer, due to the access to the internet smart phones such as the black-berry and iPhone are constantly updated to keep the users well informed of the world, these applications allow users to avoid traffic jams for instance, or even insure that they know how the stock market is doing. This raises the issue of reliability, due tot the fact that smart phones are so complex they have a higher possibility to cause issues such as the software errors which have been a constant issue with computers today and as these two technologies merge the issues will be merge as well.

Current mobile phones may support many additional services, and accessories, such as SMS for text messaging, email, packet switching for access to the Internet, gaming, Bluetooth, infrared, camera with video recorder and MMS for sending and receiving photos and video, MP3 player, radio and GPS. Most current mobile phones connect to a cellular network of base stations (cell sites), which is in turn interconnected to the public switched telephone network (PSTN) (the exception is satellite phones). There's a lot of advancement with our technology, examples are iPhones and Blackberries, called multimedia smartphones, where you can easily access the net, e-mails and others easily...The ethical issue here is reliability, where the question is...Is the applications used for the smartphones reliable? Having traffic updates and getting information are good, but are they reliable? Our world are introducing different inventions and we must take into account the fact that not everyone would welcome these new inventions.

from looking at the articles we know that smart phones are phones which use applications from companies and from other places like users for example. A reason for phones like iphones and blackberry's that theyre successfull is because of the wide range of applications. They have wireless applications and ways to access the internet easily wherever you were. It is a way of amusment as well.

Smart phones these days carry a lot of interesting features. One such feature is GPS. This helps makes driver's lives a whole lot easier as they can avoid traffic congested areas using a simple feature in their phone.
This article could be linked to the case study through networking, as Hector could use these technologies to help enhance his working methods. It would help him specifically with roaming around towns as he could avoid being late and consider options before taking certain routes. This would make sending and recieving files faster as he could get to wi/fi spots much quicker than having to sit and wait in traffic.

The article addresses the issue of reliability because people may not know that these features exist and people may not know how to use the features. This also creates issues of reliablity and quality sometimes because you might need to have internet access or must be signed up in order to use these GPS systems, and that is also something people are not aware of. Issues concerning the quality may concern the life of the mobile phone and how long the battery lasts and also the strength of the signal is an important aspect of the device. Smartphones allow people to use a variety of features and services wherever they are and it has allowed society to advance in the sense that GPS can now be accessed from one's mobile phone. People can use one device in order to access a diversity of services and features making it easier then using multiple devices to gain access to particular applications.

Mobile phones have been improving greatly in the last few years and many people use their phones for internet access, calling ect. Now these phones have an aplication where they can pick up information from your car such as speed, tolls payed ect.
This information being recorded can be usefull for companies, as they can have a garantee that the information is stored. This information could be needed for checking costs ect. This would be especially convinient for taxi companies.
