The article discussing 'Fargo Facebook' is quite a controversial article in terms of ITGS, as it discusses several of the main ethical issues and those are: Integrity, Globalization and People and Machines. Integrity refers to correspondence of data with itself, at its creation. Data lacks integrity when it has been changed accidentally or tampered with. Globalization means the diminishing importance of geographic, political, economic and cultural boundaries. IT has played a major role in reducing these boundaries. For example, any dramatic event anywhere in the world can be broadcast almost instantly by television or on the Internet. However, there is a fear that easier communication can become a source of cultural homogeneity. The new global village provides a worldwide cultural awareness, but may lead to less diversity. The interaction of humans with IT hardware raises all the issues encountered in this section, as well as additional ones such as the following. Who controls the design of technology and the pace of its introduction? How safe and effective is the design? Is technology going to extend human faculties and make work easier and more pleasant, or are machines going to displace humans and lead to mass unemployment? Is technology used appropriately, or should a better, possibly non-technological alternative be found? Which areas of human endeavor are best served by IT systems

This article mainly discusses the improvement between the interaction of humans and machines. As the article says, because of the informal nature of social networking, people can express their personalities more and moreover, people are using Facebook as a form of communication in a way that the announcements made are updated as near as live communication, which in the case of what happened in Fargo, is very useful as people could know what is happening as recently as possible.

As I said before, people are expressing their opinions more on social networking sites which refers to cultural diversity of how people are communicating.

This is another way where customize personal web can be utilize for not only social networking, but also for other useful purposes. The article clearly relates to globalization and cultural diversity where facebook is used in order to influence others to contribute to their community regardless of race or nationality. Through facebook, users are able to recieve the latest news due to the world wide web. Thus, this increases the level of equality of access as information can be spread and can be accessed by any user worldwide. As a result, users are exposed to many different opinions and perspectives towards certain controversial issues in our world today. This can avoid bias and narrow minded views to exist within tofay's society as users are exposed to many different angles due to the wide use of personal web.

This issue presented in this article is globalization. The internet in general and social networking sites have become a vital part of society. Facebook has integrated itself in our society, people use facebook as their main means of communication. Facebooking has even become a verb. Facebook, is the fastest way to get your word out, barely anyone will read newspaper ads, a minority of people will pay attention to flyers, but you could very simply, efficiently and quickly get your word out through facebook. People are always on the internet and checking their facebook, you can acces it from anywhere including your phones, in any wireless hotspot area. The issue presented is globalization because facebook has surpassed any geographical, economic and cultural boundaries.

The article discuss the efficiency of using Facebook. State in the article, many people, particularly younger ones, get all or most of their news about the flood through social networking. She said such sites sometimes do fall prey to con artists, but studies have shown that's rare in natural disasters. Therefore, it gives our the following ethical issues: reliability, privacy and security from con artists. A con artist uses an attempt to defraud a person or group by gaining their confidence. It also raises the issue of people and machines, where instead the use of technology and machines are used instead of people involved in the scenario.

Technology is being used and should be used to benefit people in need. There are people who need help during the floods that are mentioned and can get help by spreading the message through technology. Cellphones can be used to send out text messages. These text messages spread like wild fire and are able to deliver the message to people everywhere who can then reach out and help after they are informed. Similarly social networking can be used for this purpose and so can emails. The internet can play a major role in doing so. This involves the ethical issue of People and Machines as people use machines to proper avail and use it appropriately for humane purposes. It is a good use of technology and should continue. This way people will be satisfied by technology and will be able to trust it more.

The article disccuses social networks, specifically Facebook. It mainly focuses on Ethical Issues i.e Integrity and Globalization. It showed how an IT system gathered people together in order to help their enviroment, they got more and more volunteers in a short time span, due to easier communication. This IT system created easier communication. The prime candidates were young people on Facebook, they appealed to them via this social network.
Social networks could be used for various things, whether its political, ethical, environmental, etc.

The issue presented is about social-networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter have become vital tools for volunteers at Fargo (a city in North Dakota, USA) as they wage a desperate, round-the-clock battle to protect Fargo from the river and spread the word about rising floodwaters. This is another way where customize personal web can be utilize for not only social networking, but also for other useful purposes. The article clearly relates to globalization and cultural diversity where facebook is used in order to influence others to contribute to their community regardless of race or nationality. Another social and ethical issue, is people and machines. In that that social networking deals with the way people interact with machines in an appropriate way that is beneficial to volunteers and the society. This is evidenced in the article as it had attracted more than 4,550 members in Fargo.
