As the cyber world increasing in terms of sizes of networks, there are serious threats of security and privacy where intruders are able to access classified information. The intrusion within the United States Law Enforcement agencies clearly illustrate the capabilities of online criminals. This is a sign to show that the privacy and security of internet users might be at stake. If super power such as the US itself can be threatenned by online criminals, local internet users are more at stake as they do not have the means to enforce higher level of security for their information. Therefore, the only solution towards the problem is to create a better authentication system where the flow and traffic of classified information are carefully observed and watched by law enforcement agencies.

This article addresses the issue of security. A whole nations power grid was vulnerable to spies and hackers and they were able to infiltrate it. Users are always generally looking out for ways to protect their information and personal technologies and now they need to worry about losing their power as a whole. If a entire nations power grid was easily accessed by spies/hackers than it would be more than easy to access someone's personal information. This article addresses the issue of security and reliability. The security of information was breached and the reliability of the power grid's protection is put under question.

Foreign spies have hacked into the U.S. power grid and other key infrastructure networks and have left behind software that could disrupt the system, raising concerns about national security. The spies were agents of Russia, China and other nations. U.S. intelligence agencies detected many of the intrusions into the power grid, rather than the power companies or the North American Electric Reliability Corporation, the nonprofit non-governmental organization charged with regulating electricity across the grid, the article said.NERC issued a statement in response to the Journal's article, saying NERC is "talking steps in the right direction to improve preparedness and response to potential cyber threats."

As life in today's world is fully dependent on electricity, it is a very critical issue that the electric grid in US is vulnerable to attack. It is as dangerous as being attack by any type of weapon since life would practically stop without electricity. Production and business will not be able to run as technological equipment is necessary, car traffic would be chaotic since traffic lights will not work and stealing would become much easier with security equipment malfunctioning.

One of the solutions would be disconnecting the electrical grid system from the internet and divert the system to work independently. Another solution would be creating a more secure system by adding more firewalls and creating a much more complex encryption system.

this article addresses the issue of security. the power grid in the US is widely used, hence this is a very serious issue that is widely spread. the private information of internet users could be at stake here. anyone affected seriously could also stop 'trusting' technology. reliability, therefore is also an issue.

The ethical issue involved in this case would be security. The passage does mention the NERC and does say that they have solutions ot hte threats posed but no major solution is mentioned. I think that in such a situation the authenticy needs to be improved so that intruders can not get through. Other than that agencies need to supervise action more carefully and efficiently in order to prevent any type of cyber threats.

security and integrity is a main issue in this article, since it becomes harder to secure the users online and prevent online crime as the size of networks increase. Now spies became able to have access to the U.S. power grid which means that they can access to other highly secured places such as bank accounts and get important secret information. authorities should work on making and developing stronger firewall programs to prevent online criminals.

As the cyber world merges with the electrical grid and almost everything else, this opens a new window of infiltration, due to the fact that no matter what as the cyber world increases chances of infiltration and cyber crimes increase at the same rate. This therefore puts the power grid in a constant threat from an outside attack. A solution to this is not to integrate the two networks and instead create a separate network which is not available from the internet.
