If power grid system were to go digital, reliability is certainly an issue which has to be taken into consideration. The plan to use technology to control aspects such as saving electricity is certainly an excellent idea, however, the system that it uses must be full proof in order to avoid systematic errors which can cause blackouts over a large area. The idea of reducing green house gases is certainly not a new idea and is always on the top of the list for many politicians. Therefore, the role of smart grid clearly has a huge impact in the political world as world leaders try to satisfy citizens with demands regarding environmental issues. This is one of the areas of impact that smart grid affects

The issue discussed in this article is of reliability because this is an intricate system that controls the power grid of an entire city, and if anything were to happen to the system such as a glitch or a malfunction that the entire city would be affected and won't have electricity. It is very important that this system is secure and being maintained properly because if anything were to happen it would affect the city as a whole, so reliability is the main issue of concern in this article.

Piracy is well known as a huge issue for business and is currently destroying some of the businesses such as PC gaming industries and solutions to this issue has been under progress for years with no results until now. This article talks about a new solution to the issue of intellectual property and that is by slowing down the internet speed of the ip adresses of those that break the intellectual property laws.

Even though its a good solution for the intellectual property owners, it is not a good solution for the public. If a person pirates anything, they're internet speed slows down and eventually stop working and what would be displayed on screen is "technical issue" which causes a bad reputation with the ISP since they would be thought as unreliable. So, in my opinion, it is not a good solution yet.

As mentioned by other class members in previous comments, the issue presented in this article is obviously reliability. The people designing the power would need to take this issue into consideration, and really work on creating an efficient and effective system, that is backed up by lots and lots of back up servers that would act as a rescue when and if the main power grid goes down.

The idea as a whole though works, as it will help people to not have to do this tedious job of working behind a power grid.

This also affects business and employment, as people would lose their jobs if we are going to depend entirely on technology to function power grids, instead of someone manually doing it.

As the digital world merges with the major industries like the grid system reliability is major issue due to the fact that when the grid becomes more complex due to the fact that hackers have more windows to access the system and compromise the reliability of the grid. this issue can be resolved by insuring that the grid has a secure firewall and anti hacking software which will insure security and reliability of the grid.

A smart grid delivers electricity from suppliers to consumers using digital technology to save energy, reduce cost and increase reliability. Such a modernized electricity network is being promoted by many governments as a way of addressing energy independence or global warming issues.
The following article tackles the reliability issue and integrity issue, since the company who are planing to use technology to save electricity, and the business who are using these systems must avoid system errors and malfunctioning.Smart grids increase the connectivity, automation and coordination between these suppliers, consumers and networks that perform either long distance transmission or local distribution tasks.

The power grid system seems like a reliable way of mass producing electricity. It laso saves the amount of electrical energy wasted. Nevertheless, more work has to be done on the grids to ensure that they don't malfunction beacuse it could cause a major global problem. The cost of the smart grids also has to be revised beacause they are very expensive($75 billion). The price could be the determining factor in the production of these power grids. Generally, as the worlds population increases, there is more demand/ pressure for more electricity.
